“Show me Your glory!”
God is listening for those heartfelt cries, while we simply wait and bask in His presence.
You know, 1 Thessalonians 5:5 says we are “children of light and children of the day.” Isn’t that just amazing? But here’s the thing: that light? It comes from the incredible glory of God! We’ve all tried to fight off darkness with our little candles of truth, but God is calling us to something much bigger. He wants us to truly dwell in His glory, just like Moses did when he was up on the mountain.
Yes and while we wait and bask in His presence. God is holy, awesome, and simply magnificent! When we choose to live in His light, we will experience His glory firsthand. And when we allow His glory to fill us, living like Jesus becomes a beautiful reality. Darkness, and all those things that try to bring us down just can’t stand against the light of His glory!
So, let’s think about it: what fear, confusion, or sin can stand in the way of His glory? This is a light that we can’t create ourselves. In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” That’s the promise we hold onto!
And let’s not forget what John 3:19-21 tells us. It’s a little challenging, but it’s the truth: the light has come into the world, yet some people loved their darkness more than the light because their actions were evil. But here’s the good news—those who choose to do what’s right will come into the light, and God is right there, ready to shine through them!
When we talk about “the light of His glory,” we’re talking about that overwhelming brilliance of who God is—His presence and holiness. Being surrounded by God’s glory is the safest, brightest, and most peaceful place to be. It’s so connected to His presence, and that’s where we want to dwell!
Remember when Moses asked God to show him His glory in Exodus 33:18? God answered, saying He would let His goodness pass before Moses, but He had to protect him from the full brightness of His glory. After this encounter, Moses’s face lit up with the very glory of God! The people were afraid to come near him; he had to wear a veil! That’s the power of an encounter with God’s glory; it transforms us, leaving a mark that others can see.
In 2 Corinthians 3:16-18, we’re reminded that when we turn to the Lord, the veil is lifted. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! We all get to behold the glory of God with unveiled faces and be transformed into His image, little by little, from one degree of glory to another. How amazing is that? , our lives are gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.
And just think about Revelation 1:14-16 when John describes seeing Jesus. He’s portraying such a breathtaking image: His hair like snow, eyes like flames of fire, and His voice like a roaring waterfall.
Jesus is the fullness of truth, the Son of God, the glory of God made flesh. His face shines like the sun in full strength and he has no veil to conceal it.
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
